Security Media Cell announced Thursday the arrest of two terrorists and a drug trafficking gang in Baghdad.
"In two separate operations and in field follow-up by the commanders, in coordination with the Baghdad Operations Intelligence and Security Department and intelligence agencies, a force from the 24th Brigade of the 6th Infantry Division was able to arrest an accused in accordance with article 4/1 terrorism," the cell said in a statement.
"A force from the 5th Brigade federal police was able to arrest a terrorist after monitoring his movements in the Al-Ghazaliya area," the statement said.
The statement added, "A joint force from (the intelligence of the 44th Brigade, the 11th Infantry Division, a detachment from the National Security Agency/Al-Zohour Office) managed to arrest a gang dealing in narcotics, 4 kilograms of crystal were seized with them, one pistol and (2,161,000) dinars,” noting that "this came according to accurate intelligence information indicating the existence of a gang for trafficking in narcotics, where a joint working team was formed and a sudden control was established and they were arrested for the flagrant offense in Al- Husseiniya area."
"The detainees and the seized materials have been referred to the competent authorities to complete the legal proceedings against them," the statement said.
