Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi emphasized on Saturday, that water security and climate change should be included in countries' strategies.
In his speech, delivered on his behalf by Minister of Planning Khalid Al-Batal, at Baghdad 2nd International Water Conference, Al-Kadhimi noted that "Iraq is the most vulnerable country to the impact of climate change, affirming that improving the management of water resources and the equitable sharing of them meets the goals of sustainable development."
He also added that "The coordination between the riparian countries must be emphasized to manage crises and share damage," noting that "the Council of Ministers has set up a committee to oversee the preparation and drafting of the green paper related to the environment."
