Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani congratulated, today, Saturday, the Quran memorizers who were able to graduate and complete memorizing the Holy Quran, while indicating that the Iraqi people were able to cut off all attempts to tear apart and divide their unity.

The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani sponsored the central ceremony held by the Sunni Endowment Diwan in Baghdad to honor (1000) memorizers of the Holy Quran.".

The Prime Minister congratulated "all participants on their graduation and completion of memorizing the Holy Quran, through the (Divine Memorizer) initiative that he was honored to launch at the Sunni Endowment Diwan," indicating that "Quran readers and memorizers have a special status with the government, as it has been keen to provide all the special requirements that help them continue on the path of the Quran, in addition to excellence and creativity in scientific and practical life.".

He pointed out that "Iraq is the first place from which all the sciences and knowledge of the Quran were launched, interpretation, explanation, language and reading, in Basra, Kufa and Baghdad, to later move to most Islamic cities, which still acknowledge the merit of the people of Iraq in what they have provided of great Quranic sciences."

The Prime Minister stressed that "for centuries, and until this day, Iraq has not stopped or retreated from its role in serving the Book of God," noting that "the experience of the past twenty years was an example of the impact of the Quran on the souls of Iraqis. Despite all attempts to spread division, sectarianism and hatred among them, our people were able to cut off all those attempts, and adhered to brotherhood and love. They stood as one man in the trenches of honor and dignity that liberated Iraq from the control of the dark ISIS."

He explained that "what is happening in our region from the violation of Gaza and its people, and before that what happened in Lebanon, and the enemies' conspiracy against Muslims, requires that we make the Quran the source of our unity and honor, far from division."
