The emergence of new mutants and waves from Corona is a possibility, MOH affirms

The Ministry of Health (MOH) confirmed on Friday, the decline of the fourth wave of the Corona pandemic in Iraq, while confirming that the emergence of new mutant and waves is a possibility.
 
The ministry’s spokesman, Saif Al-Badr, said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “We believe that we have passed the peak of the fourth wave, and this is different from the receding of the wave, meaning that the citizen must not reduce his preventive measures,” stressing that “the risk of the emergence of new epidemic waves and mutants of the virus is still present, and we have previously warned about it”.
 
He pointed out that "The demand for the booster dose is below the required level," calling for "the necessity of receiving the third dose as it is important and achieves high protection for the elderly and those with chronic diseases."
 
During the past days, the epidemiological situation in Iraq witnessed a decline in the rate of daily infections, with by a noticeable increase in the recovery rate of those infected with the virus.
