Tarzi: The wide presence of Arab and international publishing houses in Baghdad is an affirmation of the culture of Iraqis

Poet and writer Fawzi Akram Tarzi confirmed today, Friday, that the presence of Arab and international publishing houses in Baghdad on the widest scale at the 25th Baghdad Book Fair is an affirmation of the culture of the Iraqi people and their passion for books
 
Tarzi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that "The book fair is a civilized phenomenon, embracing writers, artists, media professionals, academics and all intellectuals, and Baghdad is always the capital of the Arab book and human culture." 
He added, "Through our observations, we noticed the wide presence of Arab and international publishing houses in Baghdad, and this confirms that these houses have found a great passion among Iraqis for books."
Tarzi continued, " The absence of Turkmen publications caught my attention, even though the first Iraqi newspaper, Al-Zawraa, was in both Arabic and Turkmen. 
The organizers of the exhibition stressed that they should take into consideration the cultural value of the Turkmen, since the Turkmen language is the third primary language in Iraq, and its people have contributed to establishing Iraqi awareness. They are original partners in the country, and they had a great impact on literature, art, science, and language."
