The Commander of the Counter-Terrorism Service-CTS-, Colonel General Abdul-Wahab Al-Saadi, confirmed today, Thursday, that the ambition of CTS is very high in terms of developing operational, training and informational methods.
CTS stated in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that " Colonel General Abdul-Wahab Al-Saadi received Chief of the Defence Staff of the Spanish Armed Forces, Admiral General Teodoro Esteban Lopez Calderon, accompanied by the Spanish Ambassador to Iraq Pedro Martinez," noting that "the two sides discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to combat extremist terrorist organizations in the region and the world".
The statement also added that the meeting also witnessed discussing the ways to enhance technical fields and using the using modern methods and techniques to achieve the interests of the two countries."
The Chief of the Defence Staff of the Spanish Armed Forces "expressed his appreciation for the sacrifices made by the sons of Iraq in general and the fighters of the Counter-Terrorism Service, especially in their battles against terrorism," noting that "his visit came in order to strengthen cooperation and continue joint action in order to stand in the face of terrorism and eradicate its sources that pose a danger over the whole world.”
For his part, Al-Saadi valued this visit, which he described as "purposeful", explaining that "the ceiling of the ambition of the forces of the Counter-Terrorism Service is very high in terms of developing operational, training and informational methods."

The statement indicated that “The two parties exchanged gifts, Al-Saadi presented to Admiral Teodoro the banner of the defeated terrorist organization ISIS, which was seized by the forces of the Counter-Terrorism Service during the battle of Mosul, as a symbolic expression of the victory achieved by the heroic Iraqi forces."
