Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein discussed with his Iranian counterpart, Hussein Amir Abdullahian, preparations to start the fifth round of talks with Saudi Arabia in the capital, Baghdad.
A statement by the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein discussed, during a call he received from his Iranian counterpart, Hussein Amir Abdullahian, the developments of the situation in the region, including the security situation in the Gulf and Yemen and the danger of escalation and deepening of crises, stressing that" the stability of the region is also stability in Iraq, and from here we are ready to make all efforts and work with countries in the region to stop the violence.”
The statement added, "The two sides discussed a set of sensitive and important issues in the region, and the Iranian Foreign Minister briefed his Iraqi counterpart on the latest developments on the ongoing negotiations in Vienna on the nuclear project with the US side and other concerned countries," noting that "there are steps that can be considered positive." On this path."
Hussein expressed his happiness with the continuation of the negotiating process, wishing to reach the final agreement in the interest of the region and its stability and its reflection on world peace.
The statement continued, "In another axis, the security situation in the Gulf and Yemen and the danger of escalation and deepening of crises were discussed, and Minister Hussein stressed that "the stability of the region is also stability for Iraq, and from here we are ready to make all efforts to work together with the countries of the region to stop the violence." Meanwhile, the Iranian Foreign Minister stressed the bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran, and their improvement in certain areas, and the two sides stressed, according to the statement, the need to continue the talks that started in Baghdad and reached the fourth round. They also discussed Saudi, Iranian, and Iraqi tripartite cooperation in order to start the fifth round of talks. ".
