Turkey and Armenia will hold the second round of talks on normalizing bilateral ties on Feb. 24 in the Austrian capital of Vienna, the Turkish Foreign Ministry announced Thursday.
The two neighboring countries, currently without formal diplomatic relations, have appointed special envoys seeking to end the decades-old hostilities.
Turkey appointed former Ambassador to the United States Serdar Kilic as the special representative, while Armenia dispatched Vice President of the National Assembly Ruben Rubinyan for the talks.
The envoys held their first meeting on Jan. 14 in the Russian capital of Moscow. Turkey said the talks were "positive and constructive" and they will continue the negotiations for full normalization of ties without preconditions.
On Wednesday, mutual charter flights were resumed between Turkey's largest city Istanbul and the Armenian capital of Yerevan.
On Jan. 27, Turkey said it invited Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Rubinyan to the 2022 Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
Relations between the two countries were severed in 1993 during the first war between Armenia and Azerbaijan over the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh when Turkey closed the border with Armenia in support of Azerbaijan.
