Community Police: Patrols around schools urging students to wear masks

    Ministry of Interior - MOI confirmed on Monday, the deployment of members of the community police in front of the school gates to urge students to adhere to preventive measures, with the start of the mid-year exams on Tuesday. 

    ”The police are coordinating with the Ministry of Education in providing a safe environment for students, the educational process, and mid-year exams, and there is also awareness for students and teaching staff to wear masks and adhere to preventive social distancing,” said the Director of the Community Police of the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier General Ghalib Al-Attiyah, to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

    He added, "The accountability of students who are not committed to wearing a mask and preventive measures rests with school administrations, and community police elements will also stand at school entrances to raise awareness, and it is necessary to emphasize the commitment to prevention with the continuous rise in the number of Corona virus cases and the emergence of a fourth epidemic wave that spread in Baghdad and the provinces,”
