Iraq: No COVID cases among students for the current school year

    Iraqi Ministry of Education - MOE confirmed on Saturday, that it has not recorded any cases of Corona virus among students of the current school year.

    ”The ministry has about 11 million students and about 600 thousand educational staff, so fear and anxiety about the high rate of cases with the Corona virus were expected, but things are still going well,” said the Ministry spokesman Haider Farouk to Al-Iraqiya News TV, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

    He added, "No cases with the virus was recorded among students during the current academic year, while educational staff recorded cases, but it is at a very low rate," stressing that "in the event that symptoms of the virus appear for educational staff and even students, the person is to be quarantined until recovery is confirmed,”
