President of the Republic congratulating in the Army Day: We recall his heroic legacy in defeating terrorism

The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, congratulated today, Thursday, the founding of the Iraqi army, while stressing the need to support the army with the high status that it deserves.
 
Salih said in a tweet followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "A proud homage to the Iraqi army on its founding day, recalling its heroic legacy to defend the homeland and defeat terrorism."
 
He added, "It is our duty to support The Army with the high status it deserves, as a national constitutional institution that protects the security of Iraqis, and prevent the return of the tyranny that has plunged it into politics, wars and persecution."
