Saudi King congratulates Iraq on its founding centenary

    Saudi King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud congratulated today, Tuesday, Iraq on the centenary of its founding.
     
    The Saudi Foreign Minister, Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, said, on behalf of the Saudi monarch, in a tweet on his official Twitter account, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA):" The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the leadership and people, is pleased to share with the dear people of Iraq and its sisterly leadership this occasion to celebrate the centenary of founding the modern state of Iraq". 
     
    The Saudi Foreign Minister added, "History is a witness to Iraq's status and its cultural and civilizational role throughout the centuries and times, as the banks of Tigris and Euphrates have always been the cradle of ancient and present civilizations for a diverse culture, therefore, it is based on a long historical legacy that looks forward to a brighter, more prosperous future, by the efforts of its loyal sons, by God willing."
     
    he continued, "This anniversary comes after the great and many achievements made by the brotherly Iraqi people, the most important of which is the victory over the terrorist gangs of ISIS, working to develop state institutions, strengthening its regional and international relations, and moving towards building the pillars of partnership and justice, and hard work to restore Iraq's vital role in its Arab environment."
     
    He pointed out that "The relations between the two brotherly countries are deep and solid, rooted in fraternity and neighborhood, based on the conviction that the security, stability and development of the two countries and the region require joint cooperation to advance the prospects of this cooperation."
