Ministry of Health - MOH revealed on Wednesday, new decisions regarding the New Year celebrations.
"The Ministry directed citizens to observe preventive measures during the celebrations of the New Year holidays, in terms of physical distancing and wearing masks, as well as instructing the application of precautionary measures and not to allow citizens to enter public places such as malls parks and restaurants, except after presenting the vaccination card,” said the Director of Public Health, Riyad Abdul-Amir, in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
He added, "Health teams will monitor the places' commitment to applying preventive measures," calling on "citizens to adhere to precautionary measures to prevent the epidemic,"
“The epidemiological situation in the country is good, but taking these measures is necessary, as Iraq is on the verge of a fourth wave, in addition to fears of recording Omicron cases," he noted, stressing that "the ministry has not yet recorded any Omicron cases, but it may be presented and crowded places help to spread it, so it is necessary to apply preventive measures and commit to taking the vaccine that has proven effective against the virus, including the Omicron mutant,”
