The Ministry of Health issued a statement on Friday to mark the start of the new school year, stressing that the work of teaching bodies and students will not be allowed unless the certificate of vaccination is shown, while warning that the risk of Corona still exists, indicating that it has begun to form vaccination teams in universities.

The statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that "the Ministry appreciated the cooperation and coordination by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in implementing the decisions of the Supreme Committee for National Health and Safety since the beginning of the pandemic until now."

The statement added: "Our ministry has been keen to confirm through its repeated statements that the threat of the Covid-19 pandemic has not yet been completely controlled, and that the epidemic is still with the possibility of more dangerous future epidemic waves, especially in our country due to the weak commitment to preventive health measures. Our ministry confirms the importance of vaccination to reduce the intensity of waves if they occur, so the vaccine remains the only way for humanity to control the epidemic, to ensure the return of life to its previous era and to end all health measures restricting the movement of citizens.

"The Ministry of Health has begun to form multiple vaccination teams in all Iraqi universities to facilitate the vaccination of teaching bodies and students, and we affirm our full readiness to support the Ministry of Higher Education to maintain the health and safety of our dear students," the statement said said.
