Al-Araji to NATO mission commander: Our duty is to keep Iraq away from any regional conflict

National Security Adviser Qasim Al-Araji stressed the need to keep Iraq away from any regional conflict.

The media office of the National Security Adviser stated in a statement, that "Al-Araji received today in his office the commander of the NATO mission in Iraq, Lieutenant General Michael Anker," noting that "during the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance security and stability in the region, and the support provided by NATO mission to Iraq in the field of advice and training.

Al-Araji pointed out, according to the statement, that "our duty is to protect Iraq and keep it away from any regional conflict," stressing "Iraq's refusal to use its lands, airspace and waters as a starting point for any aggression against any country."
