The head of the Border Ports Authority, Omar al-Waeli, on Sunday identified the most receiving ports for arrivals, while noting that the opening of the Jamima port with Saudi Arabia depends on one measure.
"The Council of the Border ports Authority voted to approve the opening of a jamima port in Samawah province with Saudi Arabia in order to raise the economic level of the people of the province, as well as to employ Iraqi labor and increase trade between the two countries," al-Waeli told the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
"The port authority is awaiting the approval of the Saudi side, as they have been notified through diplomatic methods," he said.
"The port of Baghdad International Airport and Najaf witnessed a wide reception for arrivals," al-Waeli said, adding that "the number of arrivals was lower than before due to the Corona pandemic."
