Sadrist movement leader Moqtada AL- Sadr visited holly Najaf municipality on Wednesday.
"al- Sadr visited Najaf municipality today and was briefed on its work," a reporter for the Iraqi News Agency (INA) said.
It’s mentioned that al-Sadr has issued a directive on corruption in Najaf municipality.
"What we should not turn a blind eye to is the corruption that is taking place and spreading in the municipality of Najaf, and the failure, and cover-up of corruption have destroyed the city and made it and its people in poverty and lack of services, which is not appropriate for the name of this ancient holy city," AL- Sadr said, according to a document seen by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
"What is worse than all this is that what is happening either under the title under claiming to belong to us with great regret, and we have tried repeatedly to fix what has been corrupted, but they only want to continue with their tyranny and abhorrent corruption that destroys the country and the people and brazenly and insists on this heinous act," he said.
