Minister of Water Resources Mahdi Rashid Al-Hamdani today, Monday, confirmed the preparation of a road map for the use of water in power generation, while explaining the reason for Iraq's delay in investing dam water in generation.
Al-Hamdani said in his speech during the Ministerial Forum on Future Energy prospects, which was attended by the correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the production of hydroelectric energy through dams, and we are not like upstream countries that rely heavily on the construction of dams and regulators to generate hydroelectric power".
He pointed out that "the ministry prepared for this by-product a study and updated it according to the strategy for water resources and land, which was previously called the water budget, which Iraq began with a study in 1982 until 2004, and it recorded all the tasks required of the Ministry of Water Resources and some other ministries, and it was not with all ministries".
