Today, Sunday, the Lebanese Minister of Communications, Johnny Al-Qarm, warned of the gradual interruption of communication and the Internet in his country, due to the financial crisis and the scarcity of fuel.
Al-Qarm said in a statement that "the lack of money and fuel needed to operate the telecommunications sector" is causing "the suspension of some communication stations in the country due to the running out of diesel fuel (dedicated for power generation)."
He added: "We warn of the danger of a gradual disruption of communication and the Internet in the coming hours and days on all Lebanese territories."
Al-Qarm called on to provide the necessary funds to the state authority Ogero, which runs the telecommunications sector in the country.
