The World Health Organization revealed its preliminary data on the Omicron mutant.
The organization said in an official report, "The Omicron mutant, according to preliminary data, spreads faster than the Delta mutant, but its symptoms are mild."
And an American report, published on Friday, stated that most of the 43 cases of Omicron's mutation in the United States are for people who have been fully vaccinated, and more than a third of them have received a booster dose.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said that of the 43 cases of Omicron, 34 people were fully vaccinated, and 14 of them received a booster dose.
And explained that 5 people were infected with Omicron "less than 14 days after receiving the booster dose."
Although the number of infected people is small, it revives fears that the currently available anti-Corona vaccines may provide less protection against the new, highly spreadable mutant, according to Reuters.
