SMC: African suspects arrested in possession of 70 kg drugs in KRG

Security Media Cell - SMC announced on Saturday, arresting African suspects in possession of 70 kg of drugs in the Kurdistan region - KRG.

Security Council forces of KRG, Iraq and after obtaining accurate information, were able to seize 70 kilograms of heroin and opium as to arrest the African suspects who brought them to the Kurdistan region of Iraq, and it was on form food items such as (Rashi, Zazi cheese, Kishk, Basil, and Flour), according to a statement by SMC, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

The statement added, "The process of arresting this group of four defendants, who hold African citizenship, was carried out with efforts and qualitative field follow-up, the development of a tight plan, and the seizure of all narcotic substances," noting that "they were referred to the judiciary under Article 14 of the Narcotics Penal Code,”
