Saleh congratulates new German chancellor

President Barham Saleh congratulated Olaf Schulz on his election as chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, while stressing the strength of Iraqi-German relations and looking forward to consolidat them to serve the two friendly peoples in various fields.
 
"President Barham Saleh congratulated the new German chancellor on the occasion of assuming office," the presidential media office said in a statement received by the official news agency INA.

On the occasion of your election by the German Parliament and your swearing-in as Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, I extend to you on behalf of the Iraqi people and on my own behalf, my warmest congratulations and sincere wishes for success in your new tasks and prosperity for your friendly people.
 
On this happy occasion, I would like to express my satisfaction with the strong ties that our two countries have in common based on joint cooperation, stressing our keenness to work together with you, in order to strengthen these relations, making them a model of a successful partnership to serve our two countries and our two friendly Iraqi and German peoples in various fields.
