Al-Kadhimi: A project for intellectuals and creators, establish exhibition city

INA - BAGHDAD

Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi confirmed on Wednesday, that the government will launch a project to protect intellectuals and creators in addition to establish an exhibition city.

"Iraq is the center of creativity and culture, and it own some of the most creative books and the first to set up libraries," said Al-Kadhimi in his speech during the opening of Iraq Book Fair, which was attended by the Iraqi News Agency (INA). 

"With culture and knowledge we adhere to life and hope as well as, confront the culture of weapons. Without culture, we cannot arm ourselves with science and knowledge," he noted. 

Al-Kadhimi indicated: "Today, we were in Basra to determine the security situation, and we salute the judges in Basra for not being subject to blackmail and intimidation, as yesterday there was a bombing that tried to target one of the participants in the investigations," 

He pointed out that "there were attempts by parties to thwart the civilian rule experience in Iraq, and this government was exposed to many challenges in this regard,"
