Al-Kadhimi and the US ambassador stress the importance of Iraq's role in strengthening regional stability

Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi and US Ambassador to Iraq Matthew Tueller stressed today, Saturday, the importance of Iraq's role in promoting regional security and stability.

The Media Office of the Council of Ministers stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi received the Ambassador of the United States of America to Iraq Matthew Tueller and his accompanying delegation.".

The statement added, "The meeting witnessed a discussion of ways to enhance areas of cooperation and partnership between the two countries, discussion of the latest security developments in the region, and an emphasis on Iraq's growing role in enhancing regional security and stability.".

He continued, "The meeting also discussed the progress made in ending the combat role of the coalition forces in Iraq according to the principles of the strategic dialogue, and the transition to the role of advice, assistance and empowerment."
