Sadrist leader Muqtada al-Sadr said the terrorist act targeting the country's top figure was a clear target for Iraq and its people.
"The terrorist act that targeted the highest level of the country is a clear and explicit targeting of Iraq and its people, targeting its security and stability and returning it to chaos to be controlled by the forces of the state, so that Iraq can live under the threat of riots, violence and terrorism, and the interventions of those outside here and there," Al Sadr said in a tweet followed by the Official Iraqi News Agency (INA) on Sunday.
"Our valiant army and heroic security forces must take matters into their own hands, so that Iraq can recover and return strongly." He said
