The Ministry of Electricity, announced on Thursday, the latest developments in my link with the Gulf states and Jordan, while referring to the completion of electrical lines and stations.
The ministry's spokesman, Ahmed Moussa, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the directives of the government and the ministry are continuing and are seriously determined to complete the Gulf electrical connection," noting that "87% of the connection has been completed and discussions are continuing, in addition to that there are fully completed lines and stations.".
He added, "There are meetings and discussions held with the Kuwaiti ambassador to complete the 300-kilometre power transmission line, 220 kilometers of which are inside Kuwait and 80 kilometers in Iraq," noting that "this line connects the Al-Faw electrical station to the Al-Zour station and will be completed and will be ready for service in 2022".
With regard to the link with Jordan, Moussa said that "it was covered financially in terms of contracting and international protocols, and it is hoped that the work will be transferred to the General Electric Company," noting that "the duration of the work will be over 28 months, and procedures will be accelerated to complete the first phase of the project after only a year." ".
