An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale hit Tokyo, Japan, Thursday
The Japan Meteorological Agency said, "The earthquake occurred at 04.47 am this morning local time off the coast of Chiba Prefecture, adjacent to the Japanese capital Tokyo, at a depth of about 30 km below the surface of the earth.
There have been no reports of casualties or damage yet, while no tsunami warning has been issued. Japan is one of the most earthquake-prone countries in the world.
