Today, Tuesday, National Security Adviser Qassim Al-Araji confirmed Iraq's efforts to strengthen relations with Britain and facilitate visa procedures.
The media office of the National Security Adviser said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the National Security Adviser, Qassim Al-Araji, received in his office today, the British Ambassador in Baghdad, Mark Bryson," noting that "during the meeting, the Iraqi-British relations were reviewed, and ways to develop it." In a manner that serves the interests of both countries and enhances the security and stability of the region.
Al-Araji stressed during the meeting that "Iraq is keen on its relations with Britain, and seeks to strengthen it in all fields, especially facilitating visa procedures for Iraqis to enter the United Kingdom," praising "Britain's positive role in supporting peaceful and stability in the region."
For his part, the British ambassador welcomed the ongoing dialogues between Iran and Saudi Arabia, expressing his hope "to expand the circle of dialogue to include all countries in the Gulf region, to ensure security and stability."
They discussed ways of joint cooperation between Iraq and the United Kingdom in the cultural and economic fields, as well as intelligence cooperation in fighting against terrorism and the file of the displaced, in addition to stressing the importance of the success of the upcoming Iraqi elections, as a national right awaited by Iraqis.
