The Border Ports Authority announced today, Saturday, facilitating the entry of Iranian pilgrims stranded between the Iraqi and Iranian ports.
"As a complement to the implementation of the Prime Minister's directive regarding Iranian pilgrims stranded between the Iraqi and Iranian ports, the head of the Border Ports Authority, Major General Omar Adnan Al-Waeli, inspected the Shalamcheh border port, accompanied by the deputy head of the authority," according to the statement by the Border Ports Authority, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
The statement added that “A meeting with the leaders of the Iranian side was held to discuss the presence of many Iranian pilgrims inside the Iranian port, and after obtaining the approval of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, it was agreed to facilitate their entry according to the law."
