The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today, Friday, an Iraqi-Egyptian-Jordanian agreement to hold a meeting in Amman to follow up on the implementation of the electrical connection.
A statement by the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein participated in the meeting of the tripartite coordination mechanism with the foreign ministers of Egypt, Sameh Shoukry, and Jordan, Ayman Safadi, on the sidelines of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, to advance the course of Cooperation between the three brotherly countries and consultation on issues of common concern.
The statement added, "The meeting praised the approved work mechanism and what is positively reflected with the three countries, expressing their support and wishes for success for the elections to be held in Iraq during the month of October next.".
The three countries confirmed, according to a statement on the importance of starting the completion of the agreed projects in the field of economy, energy, electricity, and a timetable for the implementation of those projects, with the need to identify follow - up points in order to serve and achieve its interests at all levels. "
The statement continued , " The meeting also dealt with the latest developments on the regional and international scene and their repercussions on the region, stressing the need to create a positive common ground for developing relations between the countries of the region, noting that "the two parties agreed to hold a meeting during the coming period in Amman to follow up the implementation of electrical connection projects."
