President Salih: Iraq continues confronting terrorism and consolidating it security and stability

The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, affirmed, today, Friday, that Iraq continues its war against the terrorist cells and consolidating its security and stability.
 
"President Salih received, at his residence in New York, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings", according to the statement of President Media Office, received by The Iraqi News Agency (INA).
 
The statement indicated that "During the meeting, they discussed the growing Iraqi-French relations and ways to develop them in various fields, including economic and trade, and the French contribution to support Iraq in the fight against terrorism and humanitarian aid."
 
President Salih stressed that "Iraq looks forward to the support of friends and allies in order to enhance its security, ensure its stability and the well-being of its people, work to defuse crises in the region, and emphasize Iraq's vital role in this," noting that "Iraq continues its war against terrorist cells , consolidating its security and stability, economic and commercial openness, and its utmost efforts in terms of environmental protection and addressing the significant effects of climate change at the national level and in regional and international coordination".
 
For his part, Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian affirmed his country's commitment to support the security and stability of Iraq, and to support its great efforts to alleviate regional tensions and the need for Iraq to return to its pivotal role in it, and to enhance economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
