    Salih said in his speech before the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Iraq was able to liberate cities from ISIS and protect the world from its crimes, with the valor of our armed forces from the army, the police, the Popular Mobilization and the Peshmerga, and with the support of the international coalition, our neighbors and friends, and the role The great religious authority in Najaf, which mobilized the forces of the people in this fateful confrontation, noting that "the fight against corruption represents for Iraq today a national battle, based on reducing the sources of corruption, and recovering the looted and smuggled funds."

    He continued: "We have no choice but victory in this battle, and we are working to adopt a draft law to recover the looted money", calling on the international community to help Iraq to detect and recover the proceeds of corruption smuggled from Iraq. ".

    Salih stressed "the need for a new system among the countries of the region, with the participation of the international community, that responds to the common challenges of terrorism, extremism, fluctuations in economic conditions, the inability to provide job opportunities for the growing numbers of our youth, as well as the dangerous repercussions of climate changes," explaining that "peace in the region will not be achieved." Without a secure and stable Iraq with full sovereignty, and its return to its pivotal role in the region, and this calls for regional and international support and an end to the rivalries and conflicts of others on our land.
    He continued, "The upcoming Iraqi elections are fateful and a detailed national entitlement, which will have repercussions on Iraq and the entire region," explaining that "the elections came in response to a popular movement and a broad national consensus on the need for radical reforms and a new political and social contract that addresses the deficiencies in the system of governance."

    Salih stated that "the elections should be the peaceful path to reform through a parliament and government that is rightly based on the rule of the people without value, because one of the causes of political tension in the country is due to deficiencies and the lack of popular confidence in the previous electoral processes.". 

    Regarding the Syrian situation, Salih stated that "the continuation of the Syrian crisis and its humanitarian repercussions on the Syrian people has become unacceptable," noting that "there are dangerous hotbeds of terrorism that live on the perpetuation of the crisis and threaten our country and the entire region, and it is time for a serious move to end the suffering of the Syrians.".

    And in what conserin the Palestinian issue, he pointed out that "Iraq confirms its position on the necessity of finding a comprehensive and just solution to the Palestinian issue," explaining that "it is not possible to establish peace in the region without acknowledging and fulfilling the full legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.".

    On the events in Yemen, he pointed out that "the continuation of the war in Yemen and its security and humanitarian repercussions is a cause for concern that calls for reaching a solution that achieves security and peace for its citizens and the countries of the region."
