President Barham Salih affirmed Iraq's keenness to build close relations with Kuwait and to enhance joint cooperation for the benefit of the two brotherly countries and peoples.
Salih received at his residence in New York, on Wednesday, the Prime Minister of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Sabah, according to a statement by the Media Office of the President of Republic, received by Iraqi News Agency (INA).
During the meeting, both praised the great development by the Iraqi-Kuwaiti brotherly relations, which is now at its best, in addition to emphasizing on strengthening joint cooperation relations in various political, economic, commercial and cultural fields, in addition to coordinating positions to support the security and stability of the region.
“Iraqi efforts are focused on supporting its security and stability by supporting the stability of the region and achieving its peace through Arab, regional and international coordination,” said Salih.
For his part, Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Sabah affirmed his country's efforts to strengthen bilateral relations in various fields and support the security and stability of Iraq, praising the role played by Iraq in easing regional tensions, stressing Kuwait's standing by Iraq in these good endeavors.
Sheikh Sabah Al-Sabah praised Iraq's role in “strengthening the pillars of international and regional stability, stressing the keenness of the brotherly country of Kuwait to strengthen joint work, leading to achieving economic integration and reducing sources of tension and instability in the region,”
