Al-Ghazi: project to develop ancient city of Ur will contribute to revive economy in Dhi Qar

The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Hamid Naim Al-Ghazi, confirmed today, Tuesday, that the project to develop the historic city of Ur 

will contribute to revive the economy of Dhi Qar Governorate and providing job opportunities.  

Al-Ghazi said, during his presided of the committee concerned with the development of the ancient city, according to a statement by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Iraqi government has shown great interest in the project to develop the ancient city of Ur, especially after it received international attention following the visit of His Holiness the Pope of the Vatican." He pointed out that "the development process will contribute to reviving the economic reality of the governorate and providing thousands of job opportunities."
