Head of the national security service, Abdul Ghani al-Assadi, arrived in Nineveh province on Sunday, and met with security leaders in the province on securing polling stations.
"Al-Assadi arrived in Nineveh province to complete his field tours to overview and supervise the plan of secure polling stations, where he discussed the security situation with the local government and security leaders in the province," the media office of the head of the National Security Service said in a statement received by the official Iraqi News Agency (INA).
"Upon his arrival, Al-Assadi held an extensive meeting at the Headquarters of Operations west of Nineveh to oversee security and intelligence plans and coordinate efforts in pursuing remnants of ISIS terrorist gangs," he said.
