The Lebanese authorities began Today, Friday, unloading the first shipment of Iraqi fuel, which arrived yesterday in Lebanon, as part of the agreement signed by the two sides, which stipulates that Iraq will supply Lebanon with heavy fuel for a year.
"The shipment of fuel, which amounted to 31,000 tons of (gasoil), and half of the quantity was unloaded in the Al-Zahrani plant and the other half in the Deir Emaar plant in Tripoli, northern Lebanon, "said the reporter of The Iraqi News Agency (INA).
The reporter of The Iraqi News Agency (INA) also added that “The second shipment will arrive in Lebanon next week as part of the agreement that stipulates a tender every month to replace the fuel allocated to the Lebanese electrical plants, as the second tender will be awarded in the first week of next October”.
It’s worth mentioning that Iraq and Lebanon had signed an agreement last July, stipulating the sale of one million tons of heavy fuel oil at international prices to Lebanon, provided that the payment would be in services and goods.
