The Directorate of Antiquities of Dhi Qar announced today, Thursday, the visit of a tourist delegation from the United States and Britain to Ur, noting that the US tourist company Explore has a plan to attract foreign tourists to the city of Nasiriya.
Director of Dhi Qar Antiquities Amer Abdul Razzaq told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The city of Ur is witnessing visits by Arab and foreign tourists from various nationalities. It was recently visited by a tourist delegation from the United States of America and Britain, which included 15 people, as well as the director of the US tourist company Explore, in addition to the influx of large numbers of foreign and even Arab tourists.
Abdul Razzaq added, "The next tourist season will wittnese the large numbers of tourists, which may reach thousands to visit the city of Nasiriyah, as well as the city of Ur, which will be an important economic resource for the country in general and for the city in particular."
