Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati stressed on monday that the situation is very difficult, noting that the country needs exceptional measures.
During the first meeting of the government in Baabda Palace, the Lebanese president said: "The new government hopes that its statement will include the completion of negotiations with the International Monetary Fund," noting that "the situation is very difficult, but with will and determination we can achieve for our people some of what they hope and desire."
The Lebanese president added, "The government must find urgent solutions to address the living conditions of citizens and work as a single, homogeneous, cooperative team to implement a rescue program," noting that "we will address the issue of fuel and medicine in a way that stops the humiliation of people."
