Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi affirmed on Wednesday, the government's efforts to secure effective popular participation in the elections.
Al-Kadhimi received the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, according to a statement by the media office of the Prime Minister, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
They discussed Iraq's latest preparations for the electoral process that would make the Parliamentary elections scheduled next October, 10th successful.
"The government's ongoing and tireless efforts are aimed at ensuring success, and effective popular participation in the elections, in a way that ensures its results are a true expression of the free will of the Iraqi people,” said Al-Kadhimi.
During the meeting, bilateral coordination was also emphasized between Iraq and the United Nations, and the flow of work of the international monitoring teams that will participate in enhancing the credibility of the elections.
