Iraq has issued an official invitation to Turkey to participate in the dam safety conference to be held next October at Mosul dam
A statement of the Ministry of Water Resources received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) said on Monday, that “The visit of prime minister's special envoy for water affairs Mahdi Rashid al-Hamdani, minister of water resources, to Turkey, which took three days, concluded today with the last round of talks with Turkish President Faisal Araglu's envoy, who answered all inquiries and discussed the details of the next action plan concerning the topics reviewed between both sides."
The statement added that "The minister invited Araglu and a team of Turkish water specialists to participate in the dam safety conference to be held next October at Mosul dam," noting that, "Araglu expressed his welcome, explaining that he will send the Turkish team of experts to participate in the conference and see the Mosul dam and the latest modern technologies used to ensure the safety of the it."
Al-Hamdani, according to the statement, expressed his thanks to Araglu for all the support provided by the Turkish side in order to reach a final agreement on water quotas and overcoming all obstacles related to the implementation of joint activities between both countries.
