SMC: Arresting 9 foreigners who illegally entered the country

The Security Media Cell announced, on Saturday, the arrest of nine foreigners on charges of entering Iraq illegally.

A statement by SMC, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "The Rapid Response Squad at the Ministry of Interior, during a qualitative operation carried out by the 3rd Brigade and the Intelligence Department, in cooperation with the National Security Service, was able to arrest nine foreign nationals and an Iraqi on charges of entering Iraqi territories illegally."

The statement indicated that "The arrest took place after a tight ambush was set up on the road linking the province of Kirkuk and Tuz Khurmatu district," noting that "they were handed over to the competent authorities to take all the necessary legal measures against them."
