Ministry of Water Resources – MOWR announced on Wednesday, that a high-level negotiating delegation headed by the Minister, Mahdi Rashid Al-Hamdani, will visit Turkey during the next few days.
"The visit to Turkey comes to complete the discussions and negotiations on the water file,” Ministry spokesman Ali Radhi said, in an exclusive statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
Radhi noted that “the main files relate to joint coordination between Iraq, Turkey and Syria, in addition to the issue of water releases to the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, and the joint protocol between Iraq and Turkey regarding the Tigris River and the establishment of the research center,"
“The issue of water releases and the sharing of damage during periods of water scarcity will be discussed. These are all major technical files that will be discussed and we hope to reach positive results,” he added.
