Iraqi Media Network (IMN) announced on Tuesday, suspending its political programs that can be used for electoral promotion.
In a statement Iraqi Media Network said that in accordance to the law of Iraqi Media Network No. (26) of 2015 amended, which describes it as a Public Broadcasting Corporation, and in order to maintain balance and objectivity, IMN will halt broadcasting all political programs that can be used in electoral promotion, thirty days before the constitutional entitlement, and also refrain from hosting politicians and executive officials who are candidates for elections.
The statement added that "IMN will provide everyone equal opportunities for all to appear on special programs to explain their electoral programs in debates and interviews over a whole month to serve the democratic process and to ensure the highest levels of transparency and impartiality.
