In statement by The Elections Security Committee, for the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that to complement the measures taken by the Security Committee for the elections, aimed at the success of the democratic process ,and to protect the safety of the candidates for the upcoming elections and to secure their homes and workplaces, the Committee issued Its orders to the concerned Security Services, paving the way for the sub-committees in all the provinces to follow up on candidates and prepare a full record with their names, addresses and other details for the purpose of consulting with them to reach the best ways that secure their safety .
The Committee also directed the security commanders in the regions of the candidate's residence or place of work, to provide support to the candidates when needed, or to inform the security services of any information that threatens the safety of the candidate and his family, noting that the directives included the importance of protecting the candidates' electoral gatherings and celebrations after coordination with the head of the security subcommittee in each province.
