Independent High Electoral Commission – IHEC revealed the number of United Nations observers attending the legislative elections, October 10.
"We have formed a higher committee headed by the electoral district judge, which follows up and is interested in receiving international observers, especially since there is a large number of United Nations observers exceeding 120 observers," said Imad Jameel Mohsen, a member of the media of the Commission, in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
Mohsen pointed out that "European countries and of the Arab League want to participate in monitoring the elections, in addition to the existing Arab and foreign embassies,"
"The commission has issued and distributed badges to media professionals with the aim to facilitate their tasks, as we seek a wide media presence that enhances citizens' confidence in the electoral process and increases the number of participants in it," he added.
