National Investment Authority confirmed that Al-Rafeel City project nearby Baghdad International Airport is a fact, not a fantasy, and it will be completed by Iraqi hands.
"Investment Commission and other bodies in Iraq are all coordinating, and the Commission at the same time is not the one who sets the investment law and legislation, but the legislative and executive authorities," said the head of the Investment Commission, Suha Al-Najjar, during her participation in Al-Rafidain Forum, which was attended by the correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
Al-Najjar demanded that "all ministries have representatives within the authority who have the right to sign in order to complete the transactions quickly and not to delay them," pointing out that "the investment depends on multiple approvals from the rest of the institutions before it reaches the authority,"
She noted regarding Al-Rafeel City that "it is a reality and not a fantasy, as ongoing work continues on the airport land after allocating 106 dunums belonging to some ministries for its construction, and coordination with everyone has been done. The survey is in place and will be completed within 10 days after determining the lands of the project,"
“Al-Rafeel project will be implemented by Iraqi hands, and the largest share will be for the Iraqi investor, despite the presence of foreign companies operating," she included.
