Iran ambassador to Iraq, Iraj Masjedi, affirmed on Monday, Iran's welcome for constructive dialogue in the region, while expressing his country's contribution to Iraq's support in the fields of electricity and trade exchange.
"Iran has tight relations with the Iraqi people, and today we are witnessing a period of reconstruction, participation and cooperation, and my country officially declares that it stands by Iraq with full force,” said Masjedi during his participation in Al-Rafidain Forum for Dialogue, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
Masjedi stressed that "economic relations and trade exchange with Iraq are at a good level, as the amount of this exchange reached $13 billion,"
"Iraq has an electricity crisis and Iran is the only one that stood by it, as it exports 47 million cubic meters of gas per day, in addition to 4 power plants in Iraq through Iranian gas,” he added.
He expressed, "there is love and brotherhood between the Iranian and Iraqi people as Iran stood by Iraq in the war against the terrorist gangs of Daesh, and it gave martyrs, and our martyrs are registered within the Iraqi Martyrs Foundation,"
"The cooperation in the scientific aspect is also good, and there are 10 thousand Iraqi students studying in Iran," he noted.
The Iranian ambassador stressed that "Iran welcomes any discussion and dialogue towards peace and friendship in the region as it encourages dialogue between the governments,"
