The US newspaper "New York Times" reported on Sunday that officials from Turkey, Qatar and the G7 plan to hold a meeting on Monday to discuss the future of Afghanistan and Kabul Airport.
The newspaper added that after the withdrawal of the US military on Tuesday, the road for the Afghans to evacuate them will become more difficult, with the Taliban become in full control of the airport.
On Friday, US State Department spokesman Ned Price said officials were in talks with allies and the Taliban to allow non-military flights to resume as soon as possible after the US military's departure.
Ned Price did not comment on reports that Turkey and Qatar intend to run the airport with the Taliban.
He noted that Secretary of State Anthony Blinken spoke on Saturday with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu about Afghanistan.
Blinken and his Qatari counterpart, Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman, discussed in a call the collapse of Afghanistan and the importance of continuing operations at Kabul Airport after the withdrawal of Coalition Forces to enable the access of humanitarian aid and necessary travel.
