The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Nayef Mubarak Al-Hajraf, confirmed today, Friday, his participation in the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership.
A statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that "the Iraqi ambassador in Riyadh, Abdul Sattar Hadi Al-Janabi, met Al-Hajraf and discussed with him the brotherly relations and the historical neighborhood of Iraq and the Arab Gulf states."
The statement indicated that "Al-Hajraf confirmed that the GCC countries are keen on the security and stability of Iraq and are interested in its reconstruction," stressing "his readiness to attend the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership.".
The statement added that "the two sides discussed the mechanisms and timing of his arrival and the accompanying delegation to Baghdad, and agreed to activate the mechanisms of strategic dialogue between the GCC countries and the competent Iraqi authorities, and to activate the mechanisms of joint dialogue."
