The Ministry of Foreign Affairs discussed facilitating the procedures for those wishing to return voluntarily from Lithuania.
MOFA spokesman Ahmed Al-Sahaf said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): " The Iraqi consular delegation met with the Director of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Lithuania, noting that the two sides discussed the affairs and humanitarian conditions of Iraqi asylum-seekers and facilitated the actions of those wishing to return voluntarily to Iraq."
Al-Sahaf added that "During the meeting, the Iraqi delegation stressed the need to take into account human rights and critical humanitarian situations and to provide urgent requirements," pointing out that number of citizens are willing to return home after they have obtained passports from the consular delegation."
He also affirmed that the consular delegation continues its work in issuing laissez-passer at the refugee camps and making determined efforts to meet as many Iraqis as possible in 29 camps in different regions of Lithuania.
